Yusak Susilo, Univ. Prof. Dr.

Yusak O. Susilo is the Chair and BMIMI Endowed Professor in Digitalisation and Automation in Transport and Mobility Systems. His main research interest lies in the intersection between transport and urban planning, transport policy, decision making processes and behavioural interactions modelling. Users' adaptation and learning processes towards new options, such as digitisation, automation and other new technologies have been the focus of his research in recent years.

Denissa Sari Darmawi Purba, M.Sc., Ph.D.

Denissa Sari Darmawi Purba is a Postdoctoral Researcher at BOKU University, Wien, Austria. She holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a B.Sc. from Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia. Her research integrates electrified transportation planning, energy infrastructure analysis, and evacuation modeling to enhance resilience to disasters and climate change. She is dedicated to advancing alternative fuel vehicle adoption and improving emergency preparedness through data-driven and interdisciplinary approaches. She brings advanced expertise in network modeling, GIS, and spatial and statistical analysis to deliver impactful and meaningful research outcomes. Denissa is a UIUC Mavis Future Faculty Fellow, a World Bank Youth Summit Delegate, and a Women Transportation Seminar (WTS) Scholar.

Franz-Xaver Rupprecht, B.Sc., Dipl. Ing.

Franz-Xaver Rupprecht is a PhD student in his first year, experienced in both macroscopic and microscopic transport simulation.
His research focuses on travel demand generation and population synthesis for agent-based models like MATSim.
He is particularly interested in enhancing the realism and accuracy of simulation models to better understand and predict transportation systems.

Wanrong Hu, M.Sc.

Wanrong is a PhD student at BOKU University, currently focusing on road freight electrification through the use of deep learning and optimization methods. Her research explores how emerging technologies can improve the performance, reliability, and sustainability of freight transportation systems. Ultimately, her goal is to contribute to building a transportation system that is sustainable, resilient, and equitable, enhancing both environmental outcomes and societal well-being.

Constantinos Antoniou, Prof. Dr. 

Constantinos Antoniou is a Full Professor in the Chair of Transportation Systems Engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany. He holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering from NTUA (1995), a MS in Transportation (1997) and a PhD in Transportation Systems (2004), both from MIT. His research focuses on transport policy, modelling and optimization of transportation models, data analytics and statistical learning for transportation, and human factors for future mobility. Costas has a proven track record in attracting competitive funding on both national and international levels. He is/has been Principal Investigator (PI) of several research projects (e.g. EU-funded SCUDO, CulturalRoad, MI-TRAP, AutoSUP, PHOEBE, iDREAMS, MOMENTUM, Drive2thefuture, NOESIS, as well as nationally-funded, e.g. German DFG VOTAVI, SEE-Far, DVanPool and Trampa, and federally funded PANAMERA). He is Co-Editor-in-Chief of Transportation Research Part A: Policy and Practice.

Shahriar Iqbal Zame, M.Sc.

Shahriar is a research associate and Ph.D. candidate under the supervision of Prof. Constantinos Antoniou, contributing to the DFG-funded (https://www.dfg.de/en) SEE-FAr project (https://www.mos.ed.tum.de/en/vvs/forschung/projekte/see-far/), which is jointly led by Prof. Antoniou and Prof. Yusak Susilo. His research focuses on agent-based simulations, optimization, and choice modelling to explore innovative electrification and automation strategies for road freight.
He completed his master’s degree in Transportation Systems at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). His master's thesis explored a land-use-aware multi-phased approach for siting Urban Air Mobility (UAM) infrastructure in Munich, integrating multi-objective optimization and large-scale simulation techniques. He was awarded the Johannes B. Ortner-Stiftung 2025 Award for outstanding early-career scientists at TUM. Prior to that, he earned his bachelor's degree from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in Bangladesh and subsequently worked on the country’s first metro rail construction project, gaining hands-on experience in large-scale transport infrastructure development.

This project has received funding from the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and German Research Foundation (DFG).
